Charging in Austria: prepare your payment and backup stop
Austria has a dense network on the main routes, but before the journey it is still necessary to verify how you start charging and what price you pay. A larger network does not mean the same price for the ad- hoc payment, your own card and roaming.
Before departure
- Check with your card, which networks and under what conditions it works.
- Check the current price list and status of the most important stops in the operator application.
- Prepare an alternative network or payment method in case of an application error or full mouth.
- Plan arrival with reserve; mountain profile, rain and speed can change consumption.
On the route
Do not make a decision by logo only at the highway stop. Compare the detour, maximum car performance, number of available connectors and the possibility to continue again. If the stop is not suitable, use the prepared scenario B instead of searching in the last percent of the battery.

What to check before departure
- the current price and the way in which the application or price list of the particular operator is launched;
- the status of the station in the operator application, if provided;
- for foreign travel, the payment method, roaming and any blocking fee;
- own battery reserve according to weather, speed, cargo and actual car consumption.
